Pump It UP – FITNESS 101’s


Its the weekend and you’re done with your load of work. You’re set to paint the town red and you have all you need.


Suit Up. Check.

Perfume. Check.

Wallet. Check.

Muscles. Semi Check.


A bit of training on the weekends does two things. First, you feel awesome for looking after yourself and not shying away from training on a weekend. Second, you’re pumped. So yes aesthetics are in check.


I love it myself. If my confidence is at 75 this brings it up to 95.



But there’s a science behind it, which can help you get the best results. A pumping up session is slightly different from your normal training session. And we are showing you how.


A.   Carb Up


Listen to me. Carbs are not the enemies. CARBS ARE NOT THE ENEMIES. You want that full, well rounded look ? Yeah you need carbs.


Taking carbs before your workout is extremely crucial. It supplies glycogen, which is precisely whats needed for that awesome pump. GLYCOGEN = MUSCLES LOOKING BIG AND FULL.


B.   Supersets


Supersets are the doorway to Pump Heaven. Simply said, combine 2 exercises and perform them back to back with no rest. So say, biceps and triceps, 12 – 15 reps on each back back. That makes a total of 30 reps.


Keep the rest period between 30 – 60 seconds. This increases the blood flow to the muscle insanely as you reach failure.


C.   Dropsets


The King of it all, for the almighty pump – THE DROPSET. What is it you ask? Continue the exercise you’re doing with a lower weight once you’ve reached failure with the heavier weight.


So say for instance you’re doing bicep curls with 100 pounds for 6 reps. You decrease the weight by 10 pounds and do another 8 reps, then take off another 10 pounds and do another 12 reps.. you getting the rhythm ?


D.   Cardio


Alright so you’re done with the weights. Now it’s time to quickly sweat it out for 20 minutes on the treadmill.


Not only is it meditative, helps in calming you down, it works for your skin and hair as well. Try going at a steady pace where you can talk without gasping for air. Do that for 20 minutes and you’re good to go.
