The Blood Type Diet You Need to Know – FITNESS 101’s

Personally I’d like to stay away from the concept of a diet. In my own practice of training over the years, I’ve discovered treating thy body like a car works just fine.

 

You check and maintain the engine regularly. You clean out and change the parts when needed. You check the oil and batteries, and give it fuel only when needed.

 

Now take that analogy and use it for your body. It might seem contradicting because this post is about a diet and here we’re talking why you should not go after one.

 

There are always exceptions. In this case, we can take the things that are best suited to our body from the Blood Type Diet and implement it in our daily eating habits. So there are no strict do’s and don’ts, except that you’re fuelling your body with the best foods it was made for.

 

 

Developed by naturopath Peter JD Ajamo, the diet follows the principle of eating according to your blood type which is a key factor in influencing your health.

Closer to home land, Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra have been known to follow the same. Sid started following the diet in his 20’s, which not only took care of his health issues but also his allergies.

 

 

Blood Type O

 

Considered to be one of the most evolved blood types – Type O can digest both proteins and fats efficiently. So meat is a great option. The calcium from foods is also easily absorbed and utilised to the fullest.

Simple carbohydrates can be the issue as they have a tendency to get converted to fats and triglycerides faster. Likewise, protein from certain grains can cause inflammation and immunity issues. All in all meat is the best option for you.

 

Blood Type B

 

Green veggies, low fat dairy products, eggs = Great !

Corn, wheat, lentils, peanuts = Not so great ! Makes you gain weight super fast.

You can also consider cutting down on your chicken intake. A chemical in the chicken muscle tissue can affect your immunity system. BUT Lamb and Mutton = Good !

 

Blood Type AB

 

Like the name suggests, AB is a combination of genes from Type A and Type B DUH ! Like type A your stomach has lower levels of acid. Like type B you can digest meats effectively except chicken.

However low acid levels can cause improper digestion of meat and be stored as fat. So cured meats aren’t the best option for you. But sea food, tofu and green veggies can be your best friend – they do wonders for your body.

Also, if you’re a caffeine head, like myself, I got news for you, we need to cut down our intake.

Sigh..

 

With that being said, it’s good to keep a tab on what suits your blood type.
